by franklin J inmy wife and i haad tickets to see "the good faith" at the lamama playhouse in new york last nite.
it was an "artsy" downtown theater production.
having been tailored for a broad audience, it did not mention the name "jehovah" once.

Who do I thank?
by franklin J inyesterday, i watched my 9 year old son--healthy, beautiful, full of promise--play soccer with his team, as i do every week.
he is a very happy secure child.

what defines your life now?
by franklin J inas a jehovahs witness, our lives were clearly "defined".
for those of us who are no longer in the "truth", what "drives" your life now?.
for me, it is my kids ( 12, 9, 4--busy--busy--busy) ; my wife; my career; i live by my own personal value system ( tried, tested and working).. the absence of the superimposed restrictive grid of the jw lifestyle has allowed my life to blossom.

need to worship?
by franklin J inas a former jehovahs witness, one who was raised in the faith, and eventually became a pioneer and ms; i left 20 years ago and at this juncture in my do not feel the need to join any other religion.
it is not that i still believe any of the jw teachings, i just do not believe any organized religion, not christianity, judaism or muslim.
i feel that i am a deeply spiritual person; agnostic, but because of my "jw adventure" , i not longer feel the need to worship.. i am curious to know how the rest of you feel after leaving that faith...is there still a need to worship, or has that feeling also passed with you?.

Higher Educaton
by franklin J inwhat is the current thinking of the watchtower society concernng higher education these days?
in 1977 i entered college from a full pioneer status and was duly criticized from the local elders.
back at that time, higher education was actively discouraged.
